Stella
formerly Addie,  (sister
to Amber, Aden, Alex,
Alexis, Austin, Amy,
and Anna)
Adopted July 2009,

I absolutely LOVE seeing the other dogs all grown up, so I thought I would
send you some updated pictures of Stella (formerly Addie) for you to add to
the album! She is doing great! Her and my other little dog, Teddy, are the
best of friends! I have been taking Stella to the dog park, and she is quite
popular-- She plays so well with all the other dogs.  She is such a smart girl,
and has mastered sit, shake, lay, roll over, and sit up!  Again, I want to thank
you so much for my sweet little girl! She has been a wonderful addition to
our family!
~Lindsay, January 2010
Marley is doing great!  Her potty training has gone well.   She loves to play with
my dog and will curl up next to my cat.  I am working on training her right now. She
goes to "doggie day care" one day a week to help socialize her with other dogs
and people and to give Inara a little break.  She is quite popular there!  She is
getting used to riding in the car and will curl up in the back seat and relax.  We
even brought her to one of my sons' football games at Maine Maritime Academy
and she was very well behaved.

Here is a picture of "Henry" when he was smaller.  We named him
Henry for the woman who fostered him.  We are very fortunate to
have him.   Henry is just the right size for our family, he weighs
about 45lbs.  He is over 2 years old now.  He is very strong and he
loves to play with other dogs and loves his toys, and  the ocasional
slipper or sock.  He knows the sit, shake, both sides, lay down,
sometimes rollover, and when you say bang he falls dead.  Thanks
for checking in.

Bruin is such a joy to have in our house! He was shy when we first got him, our shepherd has
really helped him come out of his shell. She has also taught him that car rides are a good thing!
The more he came out of his shell the more energy he had. He makes me laugh every day with
his crazy antics! He loves his walks around the neighborhood or any trail we can find plus trips to
the dog park! Edziu and I brought him to dog training and he passed with flying colors. The trainer
called him the life of the party! Thank you so much to everyone at Lucky pup rescue! We really
love Bruin!

As you can see Willow has adjusted
nicely.  She is very smart and our

Willow
formerly Keeli (daughter of Kayleigh,
sister to Kevin, Keith, Kaitlyn, Kelsey,
Kenny, Kyle, and Kent)
adopted February 2010
He is so wonderful!  We feel like we won the
puppy lottery -- he is sweet, smart, and social.  He
frequently has up to eight 12-year old girls oohing
and aahing over him in the yard and he just soaks
it all up.   We've renamed him Reuben, and he
cocks his head in the cutest way when we say it to
him.He has a wonderful temperament and loves to
play, so our kids love him.  We are s till working
on his training, but he's a very smart, fairly mellow
dog so things are going really well.

Thank you so much -- it's great what you guys do.

adopted May 2010
We love her so!   She needs a playmate!  She is
an active girl who is super protective of her people,
home, and yard.  She gets along with other dogs
when she attends doggie day care at Fetch N Fun.

Cody
formerly Caleb of the "C puppies",
brother to Cain, Carson, Candice,
Chelsea, Courtney, Craig, Callie, and
Carly
adopted April 2011
Cody  is doing very well and loves his home.  We could not be
happier with him, he’s a great dog, minds very well, and loves the
children, He is very protective of them in a good way, and he is
very tame but will let strangers know he’s there should they come
near the house.
~Robert, November 2011
Gaby is doing very well. She now is a 2 year old black lab and we think  Shepard
mix. Gaby has a new housemate "Storm", a male German Short Hair. Storm and
Gaby absolutely love each other.... though Gaby rules the house. They love to
sleep together next to the wood stove in the winters and chase the ducks up at the
lake in the Summer. However, Gaby does not like to swim... kind of funny because
she has the Lab webbed feet. Gaby prefers to stay and jump around in the
shallows of the lake waiting for he friend Storm to be called back in from chasing
the ducks. Gaby takes care of scolding Storm for us once he finally returns to
shore. She loves to go canoeing with me and the kids. She likes to chase the cats
around the house in good fun until she gets swatted down by one of the cats for
being too rough. Gaby is very much my shadow as I work a lot from home. It took
Gaby sometime before she felt comfortable in a car... now she can't wait to go for
car rides with me... mostly because it means we are going to the beach or the
cottage. She likes to sit as guard dog where ever we are She can be aloof, highly
independent and can be quite mellow at times. We can't thank you enough for
helping us find a wonderful new family member.

Brin is doing great and is such a wonderful dog.  She fits into our family like
she has always been here.  She enjoys playing with the cats and other dogs
and thinks that she is the official greeter everywhere she goes. I swear she
thinks she is a human.
Brin has an allergy to everything mite and spore and is on injection therapy
and is doing really well with it.  We spent a year trying to figure out what she
was allergic to and finally just took her to Dr. Klaus who is a dermatologist
vet that visits in Portland a couple of times a month.  Had her tested and
since being on the injections is doing really well. She doesn't even mind the
shots.
She loves to play and cuddle and sits in the window and waits for us if we
are out.  She knows when everyone usually comes home and is always in
the window.  Brin is spoiled rotten and wants belly rubs all the time.  She is
very smart and went through puppy class beautifully. She comes on
command, sits, gives paws, stays, down and talks without barking.

We are so blessed to have her in our lives and it is her that picked us.

Lizzy
originally Elizabeth, (sister of

)
adopted February 2010
WE LOVE HER!!!!! We decided to call her Lizzy. She is slowly starting to come out
of her shell. She is comfortable with me and the kids.  She loves our dog, he’s
starting to lay next to her and show her some attention. She is leash walking well.
People are a different story. She is so scared of people. She started puppy class
today. I take her everywhere so she can acclimate to people. I just ask people not
to approach her to give her some space.  She went to the vet . They feel she is
about 50% Australian Shepard and will weigh about 40#. She is very healthy and
still no accidents in the house!!! Lizzy has started to herd our 100# Labradoodle. It
is funny. We are working hard with her so she can gain confidence. She loves
going for hikes. I took advantage of the weather today and we went on a two mile
hike. She was able to run up and down the trails. It’s nice to see her act like a
puppy.
Thanks for everything!

She is GREAT!!!!  We kept the name
"puppy" that Kim had been calling her.
Just fits better.  I don’t know if you have
ever seen the movie “UP”, She is JUST
like Doug the dog! We had her
groomed a little while ago – SOOOOO
cute!  We are working with her on the
nipping behavior – It is a total form of
affection she just doesn’t know how to
tell us she loves us after a day away.
She is a funny girl and we can’t
imagine life without her.

Bond
(originally Timmy, brother to Tommy
and Tara)
adopted February 2008
Bond is doing great! My husband's brother has a 2 year old golden
retriever mix (another rescue dog) and Bond couldn't be more thrilled
because his best friend comes over every day to play. They run
around for hours together and then curl up together when they're
done!

Hope things are going well and you're finding lots of good homes for
your new dogs.

Emmy Lou
(formerly Suzie, daughter of
Sidney and sister to Stanley,
Steven, Sam, Sophie, Sadie
and Stuart)
adopted March 2010

We still can't get over just how sweet and loving she is -- she is a dream puppy!   All in all, she
is doing fabulously well, and has made many friends in the neighborhood.  As you can imagine,
she was a big hit at school with the kids (and adults) and really managed it very well -- she just
really rolls with the punches, and seems equally happy with lots of people around or just me.
(OK, she does prefer me, but I feel the same!  :)  She has settled in very quickly, and I can't
remember what our life was like without her ... not nearly as full of giggles and running and
snuggling!  We introduced her to the beach today (she didn't know what to do with the small
waves lapping at her feet!), took her for a long stroll thru the park and to the coffee shop and
laughed for nearly an hour when she had a barking match with a small piece of bacon we tried
to give her.  She wouldn't eat it for the longest time, just attacked and barked at it! (It was the
first time we heard her bark!)She is lying at my feet at the moment, completely pooped and
snuggling against my toes.  I'm in love -- does it show?  :) When she went to the vet for her
shots it was like chaperoning a movie star!
Thank you again for helping to give Emmylou such a strong, healthy and loving start to life.

I found some awesome information about Groenendaels- temperament and lifestyle on
the attached description all suit us very well, I am totally psyched. I think Sam is
predominantly that breed/ I am fascinated by the breed information, usually with mixes
you don't get so much information. It will be so interesting to see how Sam grows and
what his personality is!

Sam is doing great with his potty training, and he stays by my side and keeps an eye
on the ever-interesting and always-in-motion Lila!

Hi, Tara is doing great!  She enjoys being able to roam through the fenced in forest in our back yard, as
well as playing with her doggie brother, Jacques.  She's a sweetheart, who gets along so well with our
kids and our two new kittens.  She seems to think the kittens are her babies, she loves snuggling with
them and licking their faces.  She has a loud, deep bark, that sounds surprising coming out of such a
pretty dog, and she always goes crazy when she sees deer in the yard; she's a good watchdog.  Tara is
a sweet and lovable member of the family, and we're so grateful you connected us to her!

Snowpants (formerly Stanley) turned 2 years old in December.  He has been the best
addition to our family.  We have all (humans Mom, Dad, and Suzy) bonded with our
beautiful, blonde boy but he's especially his mom's boy.  He's incredibly smart knowing
which toy to pick up when asked (he has an extensive vocabulary) and super polite
when getting treats and he especially loves to be petted.  He has a chain link
fenced-in yard and he loves to run, run, run. People ask us what kind of dog he is
wherever we go and the vet told us he should be his own breed!  He's still a LOT
playful and a bit mouthy sometimes but it's probably from being spoiled so much but
this boy is so loved by his family! :)

Stuart has been doing great at home and we've been having a lot
of fun. Stu knows how to sit and lay down (he doesn't always listen
to the come command when we're at home, but everywhere else
he's fine).  He climbed his first mountain, appropriately names Mt.
Success and has recently been swimming for the first time. I've
included some pictures from some of our adventures like meeting a
goat,

Having  given in to family pressure to start looking at getting a new dog, I perused the petfinder.com
site regularly.   When I saw the expressive, intelligent, beautiful face looking at me on the screen,
my heart raced.  Could she be the one?  I read more.  She was coming north with her pups.  We
would have an empty nest together!   My heart was hers from our first meeting, and she soon
chewed her way into the rest of the family's hearts, too (even our cat!).  She loves car rides, long
walks  (especially on the beach if she gets to herd seagulls!), swimming (fresh water, please!), tug
of war and belly rubs.  She still isn't the most obedient dog ever, but she is as full of love as she is
of energy. My heart still leaps to be welcomed home  by her beautiful, furry body.  I hope everyone
finds their true canine soulmate. Thank you Lucky Pup for mine!

Misty has turned out to be a wonderful dog and addition to our
family. I think she may also have some border collie in her, she is
quite the active girl and will be a great running partner I'm sure
after I have the baby in October. She is very loyal, friendly with
everyone and other dogs unless a dog barks at us first and then
she goes into ultra-protective mode :)
I may be biased but I think she should be a "poster girl" for
adoption dogs, we get stopped everywhere we go with people
asking, "what type of dog is that?, she is beautiful!!"

Tipu is growing into a wonderful boy.  He has
completed obedience training and will be starting
advanced class this Fall.  He is very shy, so he goes
to dog daycare two days a week for a few hours for
the socialization.  He doesn't stay still very much
either.  Tipu is always on the go and his favorite
activity is playing with his new baby sister Gracie.  He
loves to play with her and he is so gentle and loving.
He is a very sensitive dog.  We love him so much and
so glad that Mom has a great home.

finding himself more at home everyday & has even

Tim (now named "Moosey") is doing AMAZING! He has truly changed our
lives and has become "King of the Castle". He is now 65 pounds and his
Vet tells us he is very healthy and in great shape. Moosey graduated from
puppy obedience school and received his diploma back in June, he did a
great job and was very enthusiastic, my husband Jared and I are continuing
with what we have learned and hopefully soon Moosey will be able to go to
the next obedience course once he has completely mastered the basics.
Moosey has been doing great with his socialization with other dogs, attends
doggy daycare, and our family and friends also have dogs so whenever we
get together, the "kids" get together too to play, they love it. Everything is
going great, Moosey is truly our "baby" and we spoil him like crazy, but he
deserves it! Thanks for keeping in touch!

Elliot
brother of Elizabeth, Elise, Ethan,
Ellen and Easton
adopted Feb 2010

Elliot is such a big boy now! He turned two last month...
He is the sweetest dog alive! Sweet face, sweet personality. Really loves the
beach and enjoys going to the dogs park. He is very friendly and very
sociable. We get compliments all the time about how distinctive his
appearance is and how good his manners are. :-)
He is part of the family and we couldn't be happier with our choice.
He still has fear issues, but he came a long way... He is just not comfortable
with unfamiliar noises.
Thank you and Happy Holidays!
~Olivia, December 2011

Cain came to us with 6 of his siblings, all little bags of bones, in March and stayed for a week.
They had never been inside before so they did their business anywhere they pleased and
sucked down their food faster than a Hoover!  Two months later Cain had not been adopted yet
so we took him back as a foster.  He was still very scared of new situations but just a goofy dog
who loved to run and play.  After 1 month we could not part with this cuddly goofy guy and we
adopted him.

He loves being outdoors and racing around chasing toys.  Cain can get into the weirdest
positions, you would think his spine is double jointed.  When he naps he has to be as close to
you as possible.

The recent snowstorm was great fun, jumping at the snow coming down and burying his head in
the drifts looking for scents.
He loves going with me to bring my daughter to the train and looks forward to the lights and
whistle of the train.

Roxy is doing very well. She has come a long way in the past few
months. We are still working on socializing with other people. She
has made some great advances such as being more comfortable

I am in love with her and can't imagine my life without her. We are

son of Kayleigh and brother to Kenny,

adopted September 2010

We've shortened his name to Kip, and we're so happy to have him as part
of our family. Kip has been a great "big brother" to the Border Collie puppy
we got earlier this year named Jet, and he loves to play with our cat who
tolerates the attention very well. When he isn't snuggling with us on the
couch Kip enjoys long walks off leash and joining us for runs on our local
trails. Kip recently earned the award for "Fastest Dog" at our running club's
annual awards banquet.

Kip would love the opportunity to visit with any of his family members if any
of them are still in Southern Maine. It was great to see all their photos on
your website and read their stories.

We named Garrett Scout and he is such an awesome little
boy. He's very sweet and so easy going. He and his big
sister Oakley are the best of friends and they play all the
time together. We take him hiking, biking, skiing, and

trails and lakes. He's an awesome listener and is great off
leash. He's been such a great contribution to our family!!

She is great with other people as well as dogs, she is

Maxx is doing great.  He loves to chase the squirrels from the bird
feeders and although he probably believes he will catch one eventually,
they are much too quick for him.  He has a great time playing with his
cousins, Bella and Tanner, the 3 of them are truly best friends.  They
shares chew toys, water, and treats, sometimes with all 3 of them chewing
on the same toy at the same time.  He has eventually worked his way up to
sleeping on the couch and loves to spoon with my daughters whenever
possible.  He is a great friend for me and loves to ride in the truck on
the job doing landscape work or snow plowing.  My crew has had to get used
to sharing a seat with him but all he needs to do is rest his head on
their leg while we are driving and they give in pretty quick.  We
appreciate your efforts in bringing him to us and will continue to promote
your organization whenever possible.

Harper is doing great! We moved out of the apartment and bought a
house situated on 3 acres next to a state park. When we go on trips, he
gets to stay with his "grandparents" who also have dogs for him to play
with. He's made a lot of dog and people friends, but trust still isn't
something that comes easy for him (we continue to work on that). In the
summer he enjoys cooling off in the brook that runs through the backyard
or soaking in the kiddy pools at his "gram's" house and in the winter he
loves to wear one of his many homemade fleece sweaters (before Harper,
I'd never seen a dog that actually enjoys wearing these things). He's a
smart dog that is constantly guided by sight and sound, but fortunately for
us, he responds very well to voice commands. After buying this house we
saw a dramatic change in Harper. We live outside of town away from the
sounds, people, and dogs that used to make him a little anxious. He's a
calm, sensitive, loveable dog, with a mild addiction to Bil-Jacs liver treats.
Coming home to Harper is still the highlight of our days!

Frankie has been such an amazing addition to our family. She has brought so much joy and
excitement to our lives.   She loves running on the beach and digging holes in the sand.  She
recently learned how to swim in the ocean and now we can’t keep her out of the water.  Frankie
loves to go hiking in the summer and snowshoeing with us in the winter.  She LOVES to run and
she is super fast. Her favorite place to go is Happy Tails daycare.  She LOVES playing with other
dogs and showing the rookies the ropes.

Two years after adopting Frankie, we were introduced to her mother, Chloe.   We fostered her
and it wasn’t long until we fell in love with her, and ended up adopting her two months later.
Chloe loves to cuddle and craves any attention you give her.  You can tell she is so grateful to be
a part of our family.  Contrary to her daughter, Chloe prefers the company of people instead of
dogs.  She will go up to complete strangers and just sit in front of them and want them to pat her.
Chloe recently got into weight pulling and placed 1st in the beginner’s class and 2nd in her weight
class.
Chloe and Frankie love to play together and wrestle. Chloe came to us and didn’t really know how
to play with other dogs or toys. Frankie has showed her everything she knows and it’s so cute to
see Chloe do the same things Frankie does. It’s not often that a daughter teachers her mom. We
can’t thank Lucky Pup enough for giving us not one, but two, amazing dogs.

Ginger is doing really well and we just love her.  She loves her runs
and walks on the beach.  She loves to lounge in the sun and chase
the chipmunks out of the yard.  When we go to my parents lake
house she spends the day chasing the waves and "protecting us"
from them.  :)  We have been overall very happy with her and want
to thank you again for rescuing her and bringing her up north.

Memphis has stolen my heart :)  He is my running partner, my lap dog, my dinner prep
clean-up crew, and my shadow!  He gets so excited to see the rest of his family members
too!  Loves his kids, his dog mate Molly and is much better with the cats than he used to
be.  He came to us very frightened and scared and unsure of what was expected of him.
He does not really care for other dogs, and doesn't appreciate having his back end
checked out by any other canines, ever.  He has made a few friends and we have been
working hard with him on trust and teaching him good manners.  We have had to work
harder with friends and family that come over as everyone is drawn to him, but the feeling
isn't always reciprocated.  We have worked with a dog trainer to teach us a few tricks and
when people want to pet him, or get close to him, he responds well to cheese and turkey :)
He loves his dog walks and his long runs with me.  We are so happy to have him in our
lives, and I know the feeling is mutual. Just look at that smile! Thank-you Lucky Pup for
saving him!!

Remy is an initially shy boy that will reward his owner's patience with a
lifetime of loyalty and affection.
He is loyal to family members, and will dutifully follow his owner all around
the house and yard.  He is housebroken, obeys several simple commands,
adapts readily to the electric fence and obeys it consistently, and does not
unnecessarily bark.  He'll even obey “sit-stay” when you place steak in front
of him, and will wait for permission to eat it!  He likes to cuddle as well, but
knows not to jump.  He does well with other dogs, and has always been
gentle with the neighbor children.

Suffice to say that Hector is one of the the best things to happen to me in the past 3 years.  He came
into my life during a period of sadness and upheaveal and honestly I wonder how I would have fared
without him.  Hector came to me entirely by accident.  I went to see a different puppy but that little guy
wanted nothing to do with me.  I sat on the step at the foster home wondering what my next step
would be when Hector (then Jerry) climbed up on the step behind me and licked my ear.  Love at first
lick!  I took him home that day. He takes his Retriever heritage VERY seriously.  I'm always
guaranteed a boot, shoe, or his bed when I come home from work.  He's fairly well behaved, quite
smart, knows quite a repetoire of "tricks" and commands and is great with my grandkids.  He alerts
me to anyone (or thing) in the yard but I'm not sure if he'd ever attack anyone.  For the most part
he's been wonderful with anyone who comes into the house.  He'll back away if he's unsure of
someone, but shows no aggression.  His bark is enough to scare anyone off anyway.  My biggest
challenge with Hector has been getting him out to socialize.  He loves other dogs but hasn't been
around many strangers, so at every opportunity I take him with me on errands and to Pet Quarters
(one of his favorite places).  So far so good.
I often talk about Lucky Pup and what a Lucky Human I've been to have found Hector.  Thank you so
much for my new best friend.  I'm forever grateful.

Our handsome Auzzie is doing great in his home in Boston, MA!! It only
took him a couple of days to adjust to city living before he became a city
pup who isn't even bothered by trucks going by or cars honking! Luckily,
we live close to the beach and Auzzie loves to run on the beach every
morning and afternoon - chasing the birds and his other dog-friends! He
won't swim in the water but the beach seems to be heaven on earth for
him. He misses his brothers and sisters and was excited to hear that he
could see updated pictures of them!! He makes friends everywhere he
goes, which is MANY places because we don't leave home without him
very often!! Auzzie's favorite thing is snuggling on the couch or in bed and
he told us to write that he thinks he is "the luckiest pup"!

Hi this is one of the "K" puppies!  He turned 2 on Christmas eve.
We named him Rondo but I've been told his name should be
Romeo cause he is so lovable. Rondo is a great jogging partner.
His longest run was 12 miles. He was crate trained in the
beginning but has matured out of it. He weighs about 75 pounds
and takes up half the bed!!!  He is loved!!!!!  Thank you for

Gilligan is  a handful and to be honest it's been difficult. He's a sweet
little boy, please don't get me wrong, but he's wired like no dog's been
wired before! He's definitely getting far calmer, more able to lie down and
'just be', but it's been a journey! Every once in a while, though, I'll see
my 2nd grade little boy on the floor with Gilligan laughing that belly laugh
and all the iffy-ness melts away! Zander is 8 yrs now and the reason we
decided that it was time for another member of our family! Zander calls
Gilly his 'son'.... And when I hear that the small things melt away!  I'd love
to know where his sibs went and get some feedback on the other's
behaviors...what worked, what didn't, etc...

I've talked about Lucky Pup and all of the other amazing groups that do
what you've done for Gilligan to so many people. It's just an amazing gift!!

Scout began life in a rough way, she and her siblings were separated from
their mother within a day of being born, but were lucky enough to be found
by people who cared. Other people who cared bottle raised them until they
were old enough to be adopted. They went on a long journey up north to
the state of Maine, where other people who cared fostered them until they
were chosen for forever adoption by other people who cared. Scout, the
dog previously known as Roxie, traveled even further up north to the Down
East coastal town of Sorrento. She has grown up to be quite a pretty
young girl. She loves to go for rides in the car, especially the convertible!!
She spent the summer learning to swim, canoeing, playing frisbee and ball,
and helping in the garden. She is an apprentice electrician, and a painters
helper too. She has had all of her shots and check-ups with the help of Dr.
Lydia, the vet who's office is just down the street.
Thank you to all the other people who have cared enough to allow us to be
able to have Scout as part of our life!!

Allie is doing great!  She has taken several obedience classes since we last updated
you, and has done wonderfully.  However, even with all her experience from dog
classes, she still manages to get into a little mischief while outside.  We live across the
street from a horse farm, and if we don't keep an extremely watchful eye on her she
slips over, eats as much horse manure as possible, and if the horses are out, tries to
play with them.  So because of that, we keep her on a leash or a 'long line' the majority
of the time we are outside.  She does like to play outside though, and can run like the
wind. Inside, she absolutely loves to be as comfortable as possible, and has somehow
convinced us to buy three dog beds for her. Each one a little more plush that the one
before. They all are big enough to accommodate a dog two times her size! (what can
we say, we are suckers for her beautiful brown eyes!)  If she doesn't feel like sleeping
in one of her beds, we can usually find her sprawled out on our couch.  Believe me, for
a small (40 lbs) dog, she somehow finds a way to take up the whole thing.   She loves
all people, and is very gentle with kids.  She is hesitant around some dogs and is a
little picky making dog friends. But you can tell she absolutely adores the dog friends
that she has made.

Thanks for checking in on Allie.  We can imagine our life without her!

Sam (fka Aaron- brother of Allie)
Sam is doing very well. Let’s see, what can I tell you... His personality is so sweet and friendly and he likes going
for walks with me and my older son (who is almost 6), who can mostly handle him on a leash. Sometimes Sam
smells stuff in the woods that gets him interested and then I have to take over, but most of the time he walks
pretty well and listens when Nate tells him to heel.  We haven’t been able to let him off leash on the farm because
the few times he’s gotten loose, he either runs toward our horses (bad idea for him) or he goes and rolls in the
manure pile (bad for us) He’s indoors at night of course—we have a crate for him but he refuses to sleep in it,
and prefers to either drag his blanket out onto the floor and sleep there, or kick one of the bigger dogs out of
their crates because they have more room (there’s not much more comical than watching this little 40-lb dog
explaining to a 150-lb rottie that he needs to get up and move with just a tug on his ear, and the rottie actually
gets up and moves without any protest, just this resigned look on his face). He has somehow become “top dog”
among our three dogs, even though he’s smallest and youngest of them, but when you see him bossing the rottie
around it’s really very funny.

That’s about all I can tell you — he’s a great dog and we love him, and we’ve had no problems with him at all
outside of maybe a little excess enthusiasm when it comes to jumping up to say hi.

Lyle   is the love of my life! I feel like I got so lucky finding this pup. He was so
well natured right from the start, he just LOVES people and people love him.
Sometimes this 59 lb. hound likes to think that he's a lap dog. He's super
cuddly when it's mellow time, but if it's time to play he can be very sassy! He
makes me laugh everyday. He's always the one to get other dogs riled up. He
loves to play and has an endless amount of energy while he's playing. When
he's off leash in the woods he starts running at warp speed in circles, but
always stays close enough. We hike, swim, ski, jog, snuggle, watch movies,
and do everything together. He's my best friend and I was so happy to hear
that his brothers Stout & Porter are doing so well. I'll admit - seeing their
faces, the same expression as I see so often with Lyle, brought tears to my
eyes :) Thank you Lucky Pup Rescue!

Lacy is doing very well.  She is about 60 pounds now.  She loves playing out in
the yard and chasing leaves.  The current crust on the snow is a bit of a
challenge for her.  She reminds me of Bambi on the ice.  She asks to go out and
does so very well.  She minds the borders of the invisible fence and knows that
her yard is her yard!  We always ask her when she comes "are the borders safe
Lacy?"  She loves her independence outside but equally loves lying inside at
our feet.  She is very spoiled, especially by my 6'4" son who still picks her up like
a child.  She will wrap her front legs around his neck and cuddle her muzzle into
his neck.  We hope her siblings have found a good home as well.  It was hard to

Larry (now Ziggy) is spoiled to the bone. With three teenagers worshipping
him, he waits by the Mudroom door for their arrival home every day and I know
he wishes for just one ride on the school bus to see what the fuss is
about. There is a bit of a tease in him as he loves to belly down, crawl with his
front legs while dragging his behind, right in front of the llama (as if a sneaky
coyote). The llama hates him as all llamas hate dogs. I think Ziggy glories in
this, having the run of the yard and the closeness of his humans.

We adopted Thomas in March of 2008. At that time, he was basically a feral 1 ½ year old dog who had virtually no
chance of being adopted. It was a long road to helping him become a member of our family and thank goodness for
Lucky Pup and their members for helping us through the difficulties in the beginning. Thomas used to live in fear
most of his waking hours, but now he exudes happiness! He rarely ceases wagging his tail and he is such a ham. His
favorite thing is to sleep on the bed with us and he adores being petted. Thomas is a role model for anyone who
takes in a fearful dog. He has overcome so many fears and even though he still has some to conquer, when you
look in his eyes, you see a happy, satisfied Lucky Pup! Thomas has even come to help over 70 foster dogs that we
have had come through our house since he has been with us. He is friendly with all dogs and has such a joyful spirit
that helps our fosters settle in and feel right at home. Thomas has been an incredible addition to our family and he

I received an urgent call one Sunday in 2009 asking if we could take in an emergency foster.
When I picked Lexie up that afternoon, it was clear she was a very nervous young dog. But,
she quickly settled in once she learned that none of our dogs were going to hurt her and that
she had to follow the house rules. Little did we know that she was snuggling in to our hearts
and that we would be the ones to adopt he!. Since Lexie came to our family, she has helped
with around 60 fosters that have come through our house while waiting to find their own
homes. She is very playful with adults and puppies, but is also a good role model in teaching
the young ones what to do (and what not to do!). Lexie has a very playful spirit and is a joy to
have around. She quickly discovered how warm it is under the bed covers and we just can’t
resist indulging her. Lex likes to chase the birds out of the yard and can make it to the back
fence in a split second. She is a very smart little gal, but on the other hand is a bit stubborn.
She will grumble a bit when told to get off the bed, but she never takes it any farther. We have
been lucky to have had Lexie join our household and she will continue to help more fosters
through all of her years with us!

Freckles is the first Lucky Pup I adopted.  She and her siblings were found with
no idea of the mother or father’s breed.  I was always curious about that because
her markings were identical to a German Shepherd, her fur was soft a silk and
her snout always seemed a puzzlement.  I had her DNA tested and was very
surprised to find her content to be Great Pyrenees, German Shepherd and Bull
Terrier.  The DNA test explained a lot.  She is mostly white with speckles and
freckles all over her body and large patches on her back and tail.  At three years
old she  frequently wears me out with her energy and playfulness.  Freckles was
a great foster "Mom" to pups I fostered after her.

Nixie is the second Lucky Pup I adopted, and from the time she
came through the gate, she was a water nymph, hence the name
Nixie.  I can’t keep her out of puddles, streams or ponds!  She was
extremely timid when she came to us and it has been an exercise
in patience to instill self confidence in her.  She still backs off when
anyone comes in the house, but slowly and surely is becoming
more curious and coming to sniff the new arrival, sometimes
allowing them to pat her.  One of her favorite places to perch is on
top of the sofa back, like a cat looking out the window.  Her sister,
Savanah, was adopted by my nephew and has the same curious
habit of perching on the back of the couch to look out the window.
I had DNA done on Nixie and she came up Shepherd, Australian

Remember Suzie Q? Well here she is posing for my son's 12th grade

We laugh that she is mostly a Suzie Q cake and a once in a while devil dog
with her stubborn streak. Her trainer says she is very smart, has a  high prey
instinct and is a bit stubborn…maybe because she is so smart. She really
seems to know us now and she loves our affection. She is  very food
oriented which makes her easy to train. Our electronic fence is in and she
got it almost immediately. So now that she can have more freedom on the
property she is really excited. We still go to the dog park  to keep up dog
socialization and tire her out. She is great with other dogs..knows when to be
submissive but can certainly hold her own.

She is a real sweetie,..has some very funny habits that make us laugh. She
is a great dog and all the neighbors love her. Yesterday a kid came by with
