Daisy

Daisy is doing wonderfully. She fits right in with our routine, and is quite the little Mama with my kids. We went for a hike and sledding Saturday morning and she is perfect off leash and was thrilled to run up and down the hill with the kids. She still has a fear of new people, particularly as they approach her with an object in hand. She will cower behind me or my husband with her tail between her legs and shake. We have taken great lengths to find a special home for her to stay with when we are away. She does eventually warm up, it's just more fear of the unknown, I think.

Buster

Here is Buster, Lucky Pup's first rescue dog! I haven't been able to capture Buster's sweet brown eyes on film the way they are in real life. Buster is so smart, sweet and just all around wonderful! He is always with with his 2 brothers and sister, Mic, Corey and Sage Marie. We used to always joke and say "whose leg is that?" when one of Corey's spotted legs got in the picture. Invariably one of Corey's legs would make it in every picture, just the leg. But now we really don't know whose leg it is because Buster and Corey both have those spotted legs. We love Buster!

Baxter

Posted in 2009 Adoptions

(formerly Buster) Brother to Bella, adopted January 2009

Baxter - Adopted March 2009

I just want to thank Lucky Pup for bringing us and our Baxter together. My husband and I are quite sure that he will be the best dog we will ever have. He is just incredible. He loves our new baby (almost 8 months old) like nothing in the world; for a dog who rarely gives kisses, he just can't stop kissing her! She can climb all over him, eat his ears, do whatever and he just loves it. He loves to lay on his back on the floor and have her climb all over him.

When my husband had cancer last winter he spent a month in the hospital on 2 occasions. Both times, after I would come home from visiting or from work, Baxter would spend hours in front of the door, waiting for his daddy to come home. When Nate finally did, Baxter would sit next to him (or on him lol) for hours, and follow him around the house.

Baxter loves the cats, the other dogs, the baby, and is just a happy boy. He may only have 3 legs, but he loves to run, play, and swim. He is just incredible.

So thank you all so much for bringing us together with our big man. He makes our lives so much better.

Mica

Originally Mikah, Adopted March 2008

Mica

Mikah is doing very well! This is the picture of Mica (that is how we spell her name because we think she is a gem) that I wanted to send. This really sums up her personality well! I also forgot to tell you what a great nose she has. We love to watch her following a scent in the yard or on a walk. She hates rodents and has done a wonderful job of removing moles and mice from our yard and shed. It is funny to watch her try to climb a tree and hang from branches in an effort to get a squirrel. She likes to run at top speed around the yard and occasionally will leap in the air, hit the ground and keep running!

She spent her 5th birthday basking in the sun. She likes walks and car rides. When our daughter is at college, Mikah takes over her bed and bedroom. She likes having the twin bed all to herself! We just adore her and are very grateful that she is part of our family!

Millie is doing well, attached is a picture of her from last month. I look forward to seeing photos of her siblings!

Marley

Posted in 2011 Adoptions

sister to Mark, Millie, Megan - adopted September 2011

Marley is doing great! Her potty training has gone well. She loves to play with my dog and will curl up next to my cat.

Marley-Adopted September 2011I am working on training her right now. She goes to "doggie day care" one day a week to help socialize her with other dogs and people and to give Inara a little break. She is quite popular there!

She is getting used to riding in the car and will curl up in the back seat and relax. We even brought her to one of my sons' football games at Maine Maritime Academy and she was very well
behaved.

We visited with Carson and his big brother Miles and their dad. He is a happy and healthy boy who loves to play so much. He is intelligent, loyal and sweet, listening to his dad beautifully and adoring his big brother all the while. He is learning about chasing varmints from Miles and the two of them love to play play play!

Roxy

Adopted July 2011

Roxy-Adopted July 2011

Roxy is doing very well. She has come a long way in the past few months. We are still working on socializing with other people. She has made some great advances such as being more comfortable in her new home as well as with my family and friends. Everyone that meets her thinks she's beautiful and well behaved.

I am in love with her and can't imagine my life without her. We are both very lucky to have eachother. :)

Otis

Posted in 2011 Adoptions

brother to Honeysuckle and Grover - adopted July 2011

Otis-Adopted July 2011

Otis is doing great! I call him "my Otis with the Mostest" :-) He is a happy, good natured and very loving boy who has come a long way from the skittish puppy he once was. I fell in love and am actually glad that no one was interested in adopting him while he was fostered here because I think he was just meant to be part of this family :-) Otis loves Annie, and now I actually have 2 Lucky Pup "Happy Tails"

Jackson

originally Trace - brother to Tim, Tracie, Travis, Terri, Toby, Trisha and Taylor - Adopted July 2011

Jackson-Adopted

I just wanted to give you a quick update. Jackson is still doing fantastic. He’s getting more comfortable & pushing the boundaries, which we are promptly enforcing. Mia is starting to get the idea how to doggie play & attempted it herself with Jackson.

Thank you again for everything you’ve done thus far and for doing a wonderful job with Jackson so that we can enjoy him to the fullest!

Bruin

Bruin on the left - Adopted June 2011

Bruin-Adopted June 2011

Bruin is such a joy to have in our house! He was shy when we first got him, our shepherd has really helped him come out of his shell. She has also taught him that car rides are a good thing! The more he came out of his shell the more energy he had. He makes me laugh every day with his crazy antics! He loves his walks around the neighborhood or any trail we can find plus trips to the dog park!

Edziu and I brought him to dog training and he passed with flying colors. The trainer called him the life of the party!

Thank you so much to everyone at Lucky pup rescue! We really love
Bruin!

Cain

brother to Caleb, Carson, Craig, Candice, Chelsea, Courtney, Callie and Carly - Adopted June 2011

Cain-Adopted June 2011

Cain came to us with 6 of his siblings, all little bags of bones, in March and stayed for a week. They had never been inside before so they did their business anywhere they pleased and sucked down their food faster than a Hoover! Two months later Cain had not been adopted yet so we took him back as a foster. He was still very scared of new situations but just a goofy dog who loved to run and play. After 1 month we could not part with this cuddly goofy guy and we adopted him.

He loves being outdoors and racing around chasing toys. Cain can get into the weirdest positions, you would think his spine is double jointed. When he naps he has to be as close to you as possible. The recent snowstorm was great fun, jumping at the snow coming down and burying his head in the drifts looking for scents.

He loves going with me to bring my daughter to the train and looks forward to the lights and whistle of the train.

Toby

brother to Trace, Tracie, Tim, Travis, Terri, Trisha and Taylor - adopted June 2011

Toby-Adopted June 2011

After speaking with the rest of the family, we have decided we cannot give Toby up. He's too much a part of the
family now!

Cody

formerly Caleb - brother to Cain, Carson, Candice, Chelsea, Courtney, Craig, Callie, and Carly - adopted April 2011

Cody-Adopted April 2011

Cody is doing very well and loves his home. We could not be happier with him, he’s a great dog, minds very well, and loves the children. He is very protective of them in a good way, and he is very tame but will let strangers know he’s there should they come near the
house.
